THE SPORTSMANSHIP GALA
Dinner the day before the popular Orange/ Frenchman hockey game
5:00 PM, 4/6/2014
Players will attend pre-dinner press conference
Select few will have dinner with the players.
For promotional purposes, 10 ticket holders will win a chance to eat with the players
Booths will be open to purchase gift shop-like apparel and memorabilia as well as booths promoting our sponsors Tampa and Kalamazoo players will compete in competitions (ping-pong, arm wrestling, cards) with fans and opposing players.
PURPOSE
We plan to hold the dinner in order to connect with people of Tampa Bay/ Kalamazoo and allow them and media contacts to get to know the players and sponsors
Promote sportsmanship between the two bitter rivals
OBJECTIVE
A friendly, accommodating public image
Raise funds
Provide players an opportunity to reconcile after last years bench clearing brawl
Advertise and promote our sponsors
ULTIMATE GOAL
Introduce sponsors, media, and fans to meet players and help promote and increase promotional base while appealing to fans and the media
Get funds for both program’s operational costs for the event
HOW WE WILL BE SUCCESSFUL
Pre-event advertising, a lot of hype going into the event
Good community turn out: >1100 people
Break even on profit, focus is on promoting our sponsors, but any kind of profit won’t hurt
A fair amount of post-event chatter (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
Media coverage (local news)
